MG Windsor Base Model Real World Interior, Exterior Photos

Here are the actual photos of the MG Windsor base Excite variant. MG’s configurator has some incorrect information, which is confirmed by these photos.

So far, you may have seen a bunch of MG Windsor’s photos online but all of them are of the top variant. The only way to get up close with and explore the MG Windsor’s base variant is through the MG’s virtual showroom or configurator. However, even that shows a few things, which aren’t in alignment with the brochure. So, here are the first-ever, real photographs of the MG Windsor base model (Excite).

MG Windsor Base Excite Variant — Front View

The Windsor’s front looks pretty clean without the gloss black accessory, which gives it a petrol/diesel car like faux grille appearance.

One thing worth noting here is that the MG Windsor doesn’t get front parking sensors. It’s not mentioned in the brochure either but the MG’s configurator shows the Windsor with front parking sensors. The small cover just below the MG logo is to cover up the camera spot. The higher variants get the 360-degree feature while the base trim hides it with a cover.

The other features on the front are pretty standard like LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, LED indicators, connected LED light bar and a mirror-like chrome accent on the headlamp cluster.

MG Windsor Base Variant — Rear View

The rear looks similarly clean and the lack of gloss black accessories gives it an even better road presence as there’s nothing to break the visual mass into smaller pieces.

Windsor Excite Base Trim — Side Image

Along the side, the most notable feature of the Windsor is the wheel covers. Yes. it doesn’t get alloy wheels and makes do with steel wheels and wheel covers.

MG Windsor Base Model — Front Seats

The fabric seats are mostly lacking the visual drama you see in the mid and top variants. There’s no quilted cushioning here. But guess what! Because of the contouring and bucketing, the base variant’s seats are much more supportive than the ones with the leather upholstery.

You can see a small gutter in the centre of the seats towards the upper seat back. This helps with evaporating the excess moisture and improves the breathability. Since they are made of fabric, they breathe better than the mid and higher variants. The higher trims get the sofa-like cushioning with faux leather upholstery. While the top variant gets seat ventilation, rear seat occupants still have to live without it and sweat their bums out.

Front armrest is standard in all variants and it does get the leather treatment, which helps with maintaining its appearance.

MG Windsor Excite Variant — Steering, Instrument Cluster

The steering gets the same controls across all variants but there’s minimal rose gold accents on the spokes.

The other thing to note is that the instrument cluster is a small, 7-inch one. Just like the one you get in the Comet’s base trim. Not the fancy one you see in the MG’s online configurator.
